This button up Varsity Sweater was issued in the late 1940's to Arthur Penner, who was the team manager with Ohio State's swimming team, as evident by the M found at the top of the Block O. He was a member of the graduating class of 1948. His name is stitched on the inside on the left front side. This sweater has a couple of repairs done to the left shoulder area and is missing one of the five buttons. This sweater was made by Sand Knitting Mills Co., Chicago, Illinois. Would look beautiful framed up in your Buckeye Room!
