Game program from November 16, 1946 contest against ninth ranked Illinois in Memorial Stadium. This particular copy contains the Rare variant cover showing a Native American man in full headdress. In Paul Bixler's only season as head coach, optimism was met with frustration with their top players returning from World War II. Instead of playing for the Buckeyes though, stars Lou Groza, Gene Fekete, Dante Lavelli and Lin Houston were signed by Paul Brown to play for the Cleveland Browns. Still, the Bucks fought all season and got ranked after toppling sixth ranked Northwestern. Trailing 9-7, 12th ranked Ohio State drove deep into Illini territory poised to take the lead. Instead, Illinois returned an interception 98 yards for the decisive blow in a 16-7 win for the home team.
Program is complete, but the bottom staple is loose from the cover. Soiling on some of the white areas of the program.
