A scarce Varsity "O" Ticket that was presented to football halfback Paul Hurm for the 1916-17 season. Under fourth year head coach John Wilce, the Buckeyes compiled a perfect 7-0 record and outscored opponents 258-29. 128 of those points came in a shutout over Oberlin, setting a single-game scoring record for Ohio State. OSU finished 3-0 against the OAC, and 4-0 in the Western Conference to win the school's first Big Ten Championship. Three of those Western Conference games were at Ohio Field, including the season finale thumping of Northwestern.
Ticket measures approximately 4" x 2.25" and has a couple small creases. An unknown hand has written on the back Football '16 in vintage fountain pen.
This is a part of half back Paul Hurm's Personal Collection. Hurm was a part of the famed Ohio State backfield that also included Chic Harley and Pete Stinchcomb.
