Beautiful Ohio State Varsity O Association Pin from the 1940's, possibly as early as the 1930's. This style of O with the pointed edges was used on the tie-tack that was awarded to the players from the 1942 National Championship team. The 1940's was a great decade for Ohio State football, seeing the school's first National Championship in 1942 and then their first Heisman Trophy winner in 1944.
On the backside of the pin, it appears to say M.A.P., likely the initials of the recipient.
