Rare 1914 Thomas French Executed Cross Country Contract between Ohio State and Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana. The contract is approximately 31" x 9".  Thomas French was a graduate of The Ohio State University in 1895 and continued working for the university for more than 50 years. French loved football and is credited with a lot of the contributions for why Ohio State football is the national power it is today.

First, working as the pseudo-Athletic Director, he was credited with hiring Lynn St. John.  He then pushed for Ohio State to the Western Conference so they could compete nationally against the powers of Princeton and Yale. Lastly, he had the vision to build a large football stadium that would become Ohio Stadium in 1922. French Fieldhouse for indoor track and field is named after him.

Thomas French executed this contract at the bottom in black steel tip fountain pen.
