Ohio State entered the November 25, 2017 game at Michigan with a 9-2 record with their eye squarely on making it back to Indianapolis and another Big Ten title. The late Dwayne Haskins was introduced to college football's greatest rivalry in an unusual way. He replaced J.T. Barrett midway through the third quarter after the starting QB aggravated an injury that he originally suffered on his own sideline while warming up at halftime. Haskins entered The Game trailing Michigan by six, and went on to rally the Buckeyes to 17 unanswered points to pull off a 31-20 win in Ann Arbor. It marked Ohio State's 6th straight win against the Wolverines and the Buckeyes went on to beat Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship and USC in the Cotton Bowl to finish 12-2.
These Gold Pants were awarded to an eventual starting Tight End after Haskins rallied the Buckeyes to an 11-point win over their archrival. The recipient's initials have been blurred digitally to protect his identity.
