An extremely rare, 1912 "The X-Rays" East High School Commencement Yearbook with freshman Chic Harley!  What makes this freshly discovered publication so extraordinary is the 1912 baseball team photo found on page 47.  This photo now represents the oldest known photograph of Chic Harley taken in full uniform.  The gridiron great was also a star third basemen, as evident by his 6-6 day at the plate in East High's win over South High, one of several box scores that includes him. Harley is also listed as a reserve guard on the East basketball squad.  Harley, of course, went on to be Ohio State's first three-time football All-American in 1916, 1917, and 1919.  He helped the Buckeyes win their first two Western Conference Championships in 1916 and 1917.  In 1950, Chic was picked as a First Team All-American for the first half of the 20th century by the Associated Press and also voted one of 44 charter members inducted into the inaugural 1951 College Football Hall of Fame class.
