This very ballot helped Archie Griffin win a historic second Heisman Trophy in 1975. The offered Official Ballot (5.5 inches x8.5 inches) was submitted by Milton Spencer, Sports Director for WFLA-TV and WFLA-RADIO in Tampa, Florida. Spencer correctly casted a first place vote for Archie Griffin and voted Oklahoma's Joe Washington and USC's Rickey Bell as second and third, respectively.
Griffin won Ohio State's fourth and fifth Heisman Trophy in 1974 and 1975. He is still the only two-time Heisman Trophy winner in college football history. Archie was inducted into the College Hall of Fame in 1986 and Ohio State's Varsity O Hall of Fame in 1981.
Heisman ballots are an extreme rarity! A Downtown Athletic Club stamp acknowledges it's receipt on Nov 24 1975. Original mailing fold marks are present, but this has been kept flat since. Would look beautiful individually framed or as a group in your Buckeye Room.
