Ohio State is known for their diehard, loyal fans and the same was true back in the early 20th century when they were referred to as "Rooters." This circa 1917 arm band was most likely worn by one of Ohio State's Rooters as he or she cheered a long run by their hero, Chic Harley. The Buckeyes finished the 1917 with a 8-0-1 record and a Western Conference Championship. Harley became the first Ohio State player to repeat as an All-American selection and Charles "Shifty" Bolen, Harold "Hap" Courtney, and Kelley Van Dyne all joined him as All-Americans. This beautiful football-shaped arm band shows its age as the Scarlet has lightened, but the beautiful Block O is still a vibrant Gray.
