The 2014 season didn't look so promising after being upset at Ohio Stadium by Virginia Tech in the second game of the season. J.T. Barrett would develop, though, and the Buckeyes would rip off nine straight wins before hosting Michigan for The Game. The Buckeyes' season again looked doomed when Barrett would be carted off the field with a broken leg that occurred on the first snap of the fourth quarter. The Buckeyes, already without two-time Big Ten MVP Braxton Miller for the year, had to turn to their third string quarterback. Next man up mentality and did Cardale Jones and Ezekiel Elliott step up in a big way starting in the fourth quarter. It was his 44-yard run that paved the way to Ohio State's 42-28 win and Ohio State'e epic postseason run. These hard-to-come-by Gold Pants were awarded to a reserve defensive end after Ohio State's 10th straight win. The recipient's initials have been blurred digitally to protect his identity.
