Lot Description  

Typed Letter Signed (TLS) by George "Red" Trautman to Francis T. Young leading up to the 1921 season. Trautman was a three-sport letterwinner at Ohio State in football, basketball, and baseball. He would later become OSU men's basketball head coach for three seasons as well as Assistant Athletic Director. Ohio State's home baseball field from 1967-1996 beared his name, Trautman Field. 

He would become the President of the Columbus Redbirds minor league baseball team as well as the American Association.  Inducted into Ohio State's Varsity O Hall of Fame in 1978.

BECKETT FULL LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY

This lot originates from the Tee Young Collection, captain of the 1924 Ohio State football team.  He passed away from colon cancer in 1973.  A percentage of the total sale of this lot will be donated to the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer in honor of Francis "Tee" Young.
