Ohio State legendary Athletic Directory Lynn W. St. John's personal copy of Spalding's Official Football Guide Edited by Walter Camp Containing the New Rules for 1906. This book measures approximately 5" wide by 6.5" tall and contains over 200 pages of pictures and information about various college and high school football teams across the country.

Awesome piece of Ohio State memorabilia. Picture Lynn St. John sitting in his office or in his gathering room late at night, making sure that Ohio State is well prepared for the upcoming season. He has taken notes throughout the book while reading. It's evident that it took multiple days, maybe even rereads, for him to get through the new rules, switching from pencil to black fountain pen at different points. Ohio State was on their way to national prominence and it's because of the thoroughness of their Athletic Director.

"Saint" served as Ohio State's second Athletic Director from 1912-1947 and was responsible for the most important hire in school history, luring J.W. Wilce to coach OSU's mediocre football team. He served on the NCAA Rules Committee from 1912 to 1937 along with James Naismith. The iconic St. John Arena was built in 1956 for basketball and named after him. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1962, Ohio State's Varsity O Hall of Fame in 1977, and the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.

Book is completely intact, but the binding is very fragile with soft edges. An absolutely STUNNING period signature by Lynn St. John at the top of the first interior page and Ohio State University stamp found inside as well.
