Spielman was an All-American in both 1986 and 1987. As a senior in 1987, he took home the Lombardi Award as the nation's top lineman or linebacker. He was selected in the 2nd round (29th overall pick) in the 1988 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. He played eight seasons with the Detroit Lions and two with the Buffalo Bills, setting a team-record 206 tackles in his first year in Buffalo. He was inducted into Ohio State's Varsity O Hall of Fame in 2000 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2009.
Carter was an All-American in 1986, becoming Ohio State's first All-American at wide receiver. Carter did not play as a senior due to signing with an agent and left with the school record for receptions (168), gaining 2,725 yards and 27 touchdowns. He went on to be picked in the 1987 NFL Supplemental draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He went on to become an All-Pro for the Minnesota Vikings before finishing his Hall of Fame career with the Miami Dolphins. He was inducted into Ohio State's Varsity O Hall of Fame in 2003 and the NFL Hall of Fame in 2013.
