Game program from the Ohio Stadium Dedication on October 21, 1922. After winning their first games at their new home, Ohio State hosted archrival Michigan for the ceremonial dedication game. Over 72,000 were on hand but perhaps the focus was too much on the stadium and not the play on the field. Michigan shutout the Buckeyes, 19-0.
Ohio Stadium has turned into one of the greatest venues in college football history. Over 12,000 individuals helped raise over one million dollars towards the $1.5M project. On this Saturday in 1922, it was a cause for celebration as the dream was achieved. As The Lantern put it, "All walks of life were represented when leaders came from far and near to pay their respects to The Ohio State University's new athletic plant."
This program is more than 100 years old and it's condition proves it. It's cpver is loose and has been taped to the back cover and placed around the outside of the inner pages. The program is complete, but pages are loose even a couple pages are out of order. The Ohio Stadium insert is not included. Still a very desireable program in any condition!
