Game used ball from the 1973 Rose Bowl with a Letter of Provenance. This Rawlings R5 football is stamped "Ohio State Rose Bowl 1973." It was used in Archie Griffin's first Rose Bowl appearance on January 1, 1973, when the Buckeyes lost to USC, the 1972 National Champions. Randy Keith and John Bledsoe each had touchdown runs for the Buckeyes and Blair Conway booted a 21-yard field goal for Ohio State's scores. Lynn Swann and Anthony Davis were the notables for USC to score in the game. This includes a Letter of Provenance from Ohio State assistant coach, George Chaump.
