Handwritten letter dated July 28, 1921 from head coach J.W. Wilce to Francis D. Young in black fountain pen on The Ohio State University letterhead.  The letter is addressed to Young, confirming his medical clearance for the fall, but warning him that his Spanish class could be a road block to his eligibility.

It wasn't until the arrival of Jack Wilce that Ohio State found stability at the head coaching position. He'd coach from 1913-1928, leading Ohio State to their first ever win over rival Michigan in 1919. He finished with a record that of 78-33-9 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1954. Please note the brown toning to the right side where another object had rested against it for decades. Comes with original mailing envelope.
