Typed Letter Signed (TLS) by head coach J.W. Wilce and dated April 22, 1924. The letter was beautifully signed in black fountain pen on The Ohio State University letterhead.  The letter served as permission for captain "Tee" Young to travel to the Culver Military Academy in Indiana the previous day.  Includes the original envelope where Wilce penned Frank D. Young across the middle.

It wasn't until the arrival of Jack Wilce that Ohio State found stability at the head coaching position. He'd coach from 1913-1928, leading Ohio State to their first ever win over rival Michigan in 1919. He finished with a record that of 78-33-9 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1954. Please note the brown toning to the right side where another object had rested against it for decades. Comes with original mailing envelope.
