A rare gift given to Coach Tressel from a friend, David Baranski, in January 2001.  This whistle sat in Tressel's office at Ohio State. As a way of thanking Tressel for his 15 years of memorable service at Youngstown State University, Baranski gifted Coach Tressel a 24 kt gold plated whistle in a wooden display case.

Before it left his office for good, Tressel signed the lid on the case with black sharpie and he added his familiar, "Yea Ohio!" inscription.

Tressel won four I-AA National Championships at Youngstown State before leading Ohio State to a National Championship in 2002. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2015.
