Defensive back Will Allen enjoyed a brilliant career at Ohio State. The Dayton native lettered all four years at Ohio State, winning the BCS National Championship in 2002. During Ohio State's upset win over the Miami Hurricanes, Allen delivered a devastating knee injury to running back Willis McGahee when he received a screen pass in the right flat.  The hit tore three of the four ligaments in McGahee's left knee.  The Buckeyes went on to win the memorable Fiesta Bowl in double overtime.

The next season as a senior, Allen had one of the most memorable stops when his hit at the goalline stopped North Carolina State's T.A. McLendon two inches short of a touchdown on 4th down in the third overtime to help Ohio State to their 17th straight victory.  He went on to be a consensus All-American selection that year and was officially awarded as a Walter Camp All-American at the banquet on February 14, 2004.

This plaque hung in St. John Arena on Ohio State's campus for many years.
