The 36th Rotary Lombardi Award program signed by Ohio State linebacker AJ Hawk. Hawk recorded 121 tackles (69 solo) to go with 9.5 sacks in 2005. The highlight of his season came in a 19-tackle performance against Michigan State that included 10 solo tackles. He totaled nine games of at least five solo tackles in his senior season, beating out Louisville's Elvis Dumervil, Texas' Rod Wright, and Penn State's Paul Posluszny to win Ohio State's sixth Lombardi Award. He went on to 11 seasons in the NFL, winning Super Bowl XLV with the Green Bay Packers. Eddie George was inducted into the Varsity O Hall of Fame in 2019.
