Led by legendary head coach Paul Brown, Ohio State defeated No. 13 Illinois, 44-20, in front of 68,586 fans at Cleveland Stadium. Ohio State's first Heisman Trophy winner, Les Horvath (1944), rushed for 68 yards and passed for 109 to go with his two touchdowns. The Buckeyes went on to a 9-1 record and claimed the school's first ever National Championship. This program 16 signatures of players and coaches in a thin black felt-tip marker on the cover.
