The season was written off by nearly everyone after Ohio State's second quarterback, J.T. Barrett, saw his season end with an injury against Michigan. Everyone except for Urban Meyer and his Buckeyes' players. Behind third string QB, Cardale Jones, Ohio State entered the Big Ten Championship game with Wisconsin on the outside looking in on the inaugural College Football Playoff.
Just two minutes into the game, Jones hit senior Devin Smith with a 39-yard touchdown to begin the onslaught. Cardale would connect two more times, both over 40+ yards, for touchdowns with Smith as the Buckeyes went on to pitch an important 59-0 shutout. Jones finished the day with 257 yards, three touchdowns, and took home the Big Ten Championship game MVP award.
After the Buckeyes snuck in the playoff as the four seed, Jones would lead Ohio State to two upset wins over Alabama and Oregon to claim the school's eighth National Championship.
These cleats have been photo-matched and still have some of the Lucas Oil turf present in the bottom of the cleats. Jones autographed the cleats in black sharpie.
