Ohio State went into their final game of the season against the Iowa Pre-Flight team as underdogs, largely due to the 20-pound difference at nearly every position between the two teams. Ranked third in the country, Ohio State used it's speed and skill to deliver a convincing 41-12 win over the Seahawks a week after defeating archrival Michigan.

They still needed a lot of help and got it down in Athens, Georgia, in a rivalry game when Georgia smashed Georgia Tech, 34-0, behind 1942 Heisman winner and Ohio native, Frank Sinkwich.  There was still one long shot piece of help they needed as well and that was four win Holy Cross taking on undefeated and top ranked Boston College at Fenway Park.  The Crusaders delivered the most lopsided win in the 40 meetings between these New England rivals, 55-12, over the Eagles.

Ohio State narrowly was voted National Champions over Georgia Tech, 1,432 votes to 1,339 votes, giving the school their first national title under legendary head coach Paul Brown.

Cecil "Cy" Souders signed by his pictures and would become an All-American when he returned after the war in 1946. This program appears to have wrinkles throughout due to heavy water damage. Still a rare and very desireable progam.
