Led by their Super Sophomores, Ohio State traveled to Pasadena, California, to face second ranked USC and Heisman Trophy winner O.J. Simpson in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State forced five turnovers that day, including two by Simpson in a 27-16 win over the Trojans. This would be the fourth national championship under legendary head coach Woody Hayes.
