William C. McCracken began working as the Chief Engineer at The Ohio State University in 1886, four years before the first football team would be fielded.  McCracken began when there were just four buildings, 336 students, and 12 faculty members. He'd remain at Ohio State for almost 60 years and would later be named Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. He would be responsible for an underground tunneling system on campus that would send heat to the different buildings.

This lot includes a Congratulations and Appreciation Recognition from The Ohio State University to Mr. McCracken for his almost 60 years of service.  It also includes a couple of pictures from when he spoke at the commencement ceremony at Ohio Stadium. There are also various newspaper articles and a comic about McCraken's recognition.  He had a stroke and passed away at the age of 96.
