Smith was a defensive end at Ohio State, winning both a National Championship in 2002 for the Buckeyes and Super Bowl XLIV with the New Orleans Saints. Smith's NFL career spanned nine seasons, all with the Saints. Smith was tragically killed in a 2016 altercation following a traffic accident in New Orleans.
