A clean index card signed by Ohio State 1961 All-American, Bob Ferguson. He overtook the starting role held by senior fullback Bob White, averaging a whopping 6.1 yards per carry and 11 touchdowns. On his way to winning the 1961 Maxwell Award, being named UPI Player of the Year, and finishing second for the Heisman Memorial Trophy Award, Ferguson helped the Buckeyes win the FWAA National Championship with an 8-0-1 record. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round (fifth pick overall) of the 1962 NFL Draft and also the first round (eighth pick overall) of the 1962 AFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. He opted for the NFL and played for both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1996 and into Ohio State's Varsity O Hall of Fame in 1987. This was signed in the mid-1990's after he was forced to retire due to health problems. He passed away at the age of 65 from complications due to diabetes in 2004.  Includes original mailing envelope.
