After squeaking into the playoff by pounding Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship with their third string quarterback, Ohio State upset top ranked Alabama in the semifinal. The Buckeyes would face Oregon and the 2014 Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, but had a future All-American on their roster as well. Running back Ezekiel Elliott posted his third straight 200-yard game with a 246-yard, four touchdown performance. His final score iced the title for the Buckeyes in a 42-20 win over the Ducks.

This College Football Playoff National Championship 3-ring Presentation Display Case is made by Josten's and was given to players and staff to hold the three rings awarded to them for winning an outright Big Ten Championship, Sugar Bowl, and College Football Playoff National Championship for the eighth title in school history.
