This very ballot helped Howard "Hopalong" Cassady win Ohio State's third Heisman Trophy in 1955. The offered Official Ballot (5.5 inches x8.5 inches) was submitted by Ed Kallay, the Sports Director for WAVE Radio and WAVE-TV in Louisville, Kentucky.  Kallay correctly casted a first place vote for Howard Cassady and voted TCU's Jim Swink and Navy's Ron Beagle as second and third, respectively.

Cassady was a member of Ohio State's 1954 National Championship team and was Ohio State's third Heisman winner in 1955. Hop would go on to an eight-year career in the NFL, highlighted by a NFL Championship with the Detroit Lions in 1957. He was inducted into the College Hall of Fame in 1979 and Ohio State's Varsity O Hall of Fame in 1977.

Heisman ballots are an extreme rarity! A Downtown Athletic Club stamp acknowledges it's receipt on Nov 28 1955. Original mailing fold marks are present, but this has been kept flat since. Would look beautiful individually framed or as a group in your Buckeye Room.
