Incredibly rare pocket schedule for Ohio State's undefeated 1917 football season, compliments of Thomas E. Wilson & Company Sporting and Athletic Goods Manufacturers out of Chicago, Illinois.  On the front depicts 1917 Captain and All-American, Harold J. "Hap" Courtney, who tragically lost his life the following year during World War I. On the opposite side of Courtney is the schedule as it was when it was printed. The original owner kept record of the scores week-by-week, and even had to add games against Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn) and Camp Sherman. The last-minute schedule addition down to Montgomery, Alabama, was the lone game keeping Ohio State from perfection as the Buckeyes finished 8-0-1, including a 0-0 tie to API. The Buckeyes repeated as Western Conference Champions and Chic Harley repeated as a unanimous First Team All-American.  This schedule measures 6" x 5", is completely intact, but its fragility demonstrates its age.  Some of the corners are peeling back, but overall, still is a beautiful early Ohio State bi-fold pocket schedule from the Chic Harley era.
