1950 Agonis Club Award issued to Fred Taylor when he was a Basketball Player at Ohio State. Taylor would, of course, go on to be one of the most successful basketball coaches in the school's history. He led the Buckeyes to their only National Championship in 1960, the first of three straight NCAA Finals appearances. Before coaching and after graduation, Taylor would play Major League Baseball for the Washington Senators from 1950-1952.  He returned to Ohio State to coach basketball beginning in 1958. Taylor finished his coaching career with an overall record of 297–158 and was named Coach of the Year by the USBWA and UPI in 1961 and 1962. Known as a talented recruiter, Taylor coached six All-Americans as well as Hall of Famers Jerry Lucas, John Havlicek and Bobby Knight.
